HMK {HotelMariaKapel} opens August 29 with the driving performance, “How to walk together” of Catherine Grau (US) and Zoë Kreye (CAN). This tour through the area Grote Waal in Hoorn is the start off the art project A Social intervention. Earlier this year HMK invited ten artists from the Netherlands and abroad to investigate the social impact of art in public spaces of the district the Grote Waal.

This unusual boat trip is the kickoff of a series of intervention in public space. During meetings both artists collect personal anecdotes of the inhabitants of the Grote Waal. They have come across undiscovered stories and talents. This forms the source for a journey full of magical adventures. The artists collaborate with the canoe association
KC Flevo to implement the interventions in the canals of the Grote Waal and the Dwaalpark.

Today, on Wednesday, August 29th at 7 PM the narrative parade will start from the canoe club and follows the route along bridges and wharfs. Visitors are invited to join either by their boats or on foot, to encounter the creativity of the artists and the residents of the neighborhood.

Join the procession? Walk or bring your boat along! For more information and directions you can visit our website or  http://how-to-walk-together.tumblr.com
