In the fall of 2016 artist collective Polly’s Picture Show created a playground at Hotel Maria Kapel (HMK) and invited 19 artists to play with them. The results of this period were reworked by the collective into a large kinetic installation that activated the different artworks, and sketches and proposals for artworks, as characters on a stage. The book Polly’s Playground documents the process, struggle, and inventiveness of the participants. It has no other goal than to incite enjoyment at the sight of genuine play, and perhaps make the reader/viewer reflect on what it means to them today.
