Wednesday 16 May // Presentation 8 PM // A SOCIAL research, with artist/urban curator Sabrina Linde-
mann and curator Kie Ellens
(Main language: Dutch) On Wednesday the 16th of May, from 8 PM the HMKcurators and A SOCIAL artist
in residence Catherine Grau will present the preliminal A SOCIAL research results.
Artist and urban curator Sabrina Lindemann will be speaking about her experiences with Hotel Transvaal:
a large project in The Hague, where a temporary ‘hotel’ was realized in several empty buildings in the Trans-
vaal neighbourhood, in close collaboration with the community. The main goal of this project was to in-
volve art in the process of urban development.
Curator Kie Ellens (Wall House, Groningen) will be focusing on the use of more autonomous artprojects in
public space, like he did in the project Heapsteaps for VHDG in Leeuwarden. For this project, he invited
artists to execute short performances and multimedia installations in public space, to manipulate the audience’s perception of the urban environment.
