Knowledge and other myths consists of a selection of videoworks from the exhibition with the same name held at Platform Arts in Belfast. The artists are residents at HMK from 4 May till 4 July 2016.
Knowledge and other myths seeks to validate experiential knowledges of young, female, queer, and precarious subjects. Through the appropriation of rationalist discourses the artists articulate frustration with the unacknowledged labour of the cultural sector, the objectifying gaze of medicine, the indoctrination of patriarchal values, and the marginalising erasure of histories.
Join us for a special screening of Knowledge and other myths + introduction to the videos by the artists on Saturday 11 June from 19.00 till 21.00. Afterwards, there’s time to hang around, get to know our current residents, and enjoy some drinks and snacks.
