Finissage: 'A Body Without Its Flesh'

Join us for the closing event of the project ‘A Body Without Its Flesh’ by artist Benjamin Francis.

During this evening Benjamin Francis will engage in a conversation with HMK's artistic director Inez Piso and Anik Fournier, curator Archive and Research at If I Can’t Dance I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution, about the themes central to his work and practice. We start the evening with an artist talk in the chapel, accompanied with a screening of 'eXistenZ', the infamous cult classic starring Jude Law.

The conversation revolves around the way the body is used as a tool of resistance in an exhibition space but also in institutional spaces of pedagogy. The film eXistenZ which will be shown after the conversation is a source of inspiration for Benjamin Francis in his artistic research due to the tension between the scripted and non-scripted reality that protagonizes the movie.

Make your reservation.
